Start with approved information, reminders, request collection or service updates. Define what the agent may confirm, which connected system supplies the answer and when it must ask a person. The assistant should not invent prices, availability, commitments or account information.
Introduce the assistant as an AI agent and offer a route to your team. For example: ‘You are speaking with our AI assistant. I can help with appointment information or connect you with our team.’ Adapt the greeting to the actual approved scope. See guidance on clear AI disclosure.
Use calls for an agreed customer purpose and respect contact permissions and opt-outs. Define calling hours, retries and how a request not to be contacted reaches the team. A support workflow should not become an unrestricted calling campaign.
Agree which requests need a person and where they go. Transfer relevant context where the integration supports it, or collect a callback request when the team is unavailable. Test unexpected questions and failed connections. Review outcomes within the agreed data-handling process and update approved information as the business changes.
